YIC (Young Innovative Company) status – France

Tax incentives for R&D stimulate the growth of innovative companies by lowering the effective cost of investment in R&D.

Young innovative company programmes typically provide tax relief and a reduction in social charges for young firms which have a demonstrated innovation focus. This is often specified by a commitment of resources to research and development. France in 2004 was the first European country to adopt a YIC-based program.
