Commercializing new BioMedical Technologies Led by Dr Jeff Skinner – London Business School
This one-day Masterclass takes participants through three crucial stages of setting up a new biomedical start-up, business planning, valuation and negotiation of terms with early stage investors.
The Masterclass is based on three case studies (distributed beforehand) in which we put participants in the role of advisor to the scientists behind three different ventures (at three different stages of development). The cases are based around Biomedical technologies (devices and pharmaceuticals) but the underlying thinking is generic to any early stage technology.
The workshop is aimed at any who are interested or involved in the creation of spin-out businesses and some of the underlying principles, commonalities or difficult issues associated with the commercialization of early stage technologies.
The Masterclass will be run on a ‘workshop’ format – posing an issue, asking participants to propose solutions and recommendations before discussing and evaluating the merits of the various approaches.
